Parks & Trails

Parks abound in Stone Mills.  From the quaint village parks to the provincially significant wildlife refuge.  There is a spot and activity for everyone includng canoeing or kayaking on the Napanee or Salmon Rivers, paddling or boating on one of the numerous lakes, bird or wildlife watching  or just relaxing.  For one weekend per year, Beaver Lake becomes the focus for the Ottawa Power Boat Racing Association with competitors coming from across Canada to complete in this event.

BEAVER LAKE LION'S PARK

Located at 5783 County Road 41, on the southwest corner of Beaver Lake in Erinsville.  Includes: waterfront parkland, swimming, picnic tables, picnic shelter, dock, playground equipment, toilets, boat launch and two parking spots.  Maintained by the Tamworth and Area Lions Club.

CAMDEN EAST CONSERVATION PARK

Located at 33 Old Mill Street in the hamlet of Camden East and on the south shore of the Napanee River. and east of County Road 4.  Includes: riverside parkland with picnic tables, 2 BBQ pits and playground equipment, seasonally installed portable toilet.

CAMDEN LAKE PROVINCIAL WILDLIFE AREA

Located at end of 603 Card Road on the south shore of Camden Lake and west of County Road 6 in Moscow.  Includes: boat launch, dock, elevated lookout, picnic tables, picnic shelter with multiple boardwalks, and a second lookout. Large numbered parking lot specifically designed for all waterfowl hunters. This wildlife area is maintained by the Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry (MNRF). Any inquiries should be directed to the MNRF at  613-531-5700.

CATARAQUI TRAIL

The Cataraqui Trail is a year-round, shared-use recreation trail running approximately 103 km from Smith Falls in the east to Strathcona in the west. the trail runs 17 kilometres through the Township of Stone Mills from Strathcona to east of Yarker. In spring, summer and fall it welcomes everyone from hikers to cyclists. In winter it is open to snowmobilers bearing a current Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs trail permit. Cross-country skiers are welcome to share the trail. Other than snowmobiles in season and electrically assisted bicycles all other motorized vehicles are prohibited.

CENTENNIAL PARK

Located at 638 Park Road on the north east shore of Varty Lake in Yarker.  Open during spring, summer and fall. Includes: waterfront parkland with walkways, covered picnic area and picnic tables, dock, boat launch, parking lot, multiple toilets, drinking water at well house, men and women's showers in cottage building, playground equipment and swimming.

COLEBROOK CONSERVATION PARK

Located at 3187 County Road 6, at the corner of County Rd 6 and Colebrook Road and fronting on the Napanee River.  Includes: riverside parkland, park benches, playground equipment with seasonally installed portable toilet.

CUNNINGHAM MEMORIAL PARK

Located on the North West corner of Ottawa and Wheeler Streets in Tamworth and includes a riverside park and gazebo.

DARK SKY VIEWING AREA

Located at 7980 County Road 41 (37 kilometres north of Napanee) in Erinsville. The site has ample paring and includes a large concrete pad for camera or telescope setup. The viewing area is open from dusk to dawn and includes access to Mellon Lake. For a list of Dark Sky Viewing Area events, please click here.

ENTERPRISE BALL PARK

Located at 38 Cross Street, southwest corner of Cross Street and West Street.  This site has a lit baseball diamond with bleachers, outdoor ice rink (seasonal), picnic tables, playground equipment.

NEVILLE POINT PARK

Located at the end of Neville Point Road approximately 2.3 kilometres East of County Road 41 in Erinsville.  Includes: waterfront parkland, swimming, dock, seasonal toilets/clothes changing area, gazebo, picnic tables and boat launch. Please note that the Beaver Lake Swim Program runs at Neville Point Park every July through August. During swim program hours, use of the swimming area is restricted to swim program participants.

NEWBURGH CONSERVATION PARK

Located at 3 Factory Street at the intersection of George and Factory Street with ample frontage on Napanee River and Newburgh Canal.  Includes: riverside parkland with waterfalls, basketball court, bbq's, baseball diamond, playground equipment, picnic tables and nature trails. Provides access to canal for winter skating and hockey. Year round portable toilet provided.

PUZZLE LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK

Located at 2459 County Road 15, Tamworth with access via Gull Lake boat launch on County Road 15.Puzzle Lake Provincial Park has rugged and diverse terrain composed of a mosaic of rock barrens, igneous cliffs, dry-mesic mixed forest, and numerous wetlands and lakes. Please note that this is a non-operating provincial park. There are no activities, facilities, or signage available here. If you're looking for unspoiled natural beauty, you've come to the right spot.

SHEFFIELD CONSERVATION AREA

Located at 8032 County Road 41, just north of the Dark Sky Viewing Area. Includes: waterfront parkland, trail system, picnic area, seasonal portable toilet, boat launch ont o Little Mellon Lake and parking lot.

TAMWORTH SKATE PARK

Located behind the Fire Hall in Tamworth and adjacent to the soccer fields, the Tamworth Skate Park official ribbon cutting was held on September 16th, 2023. There is ample parking available, portable toilet on site and located in close proximity to shops and restaurants.

YARKER RIVERSIDE PARK

Located at 2848 County Road 6 on the east side.  Includes: river frontage on the Napanee River with parkland, park benches, seasonally installed portable toilet and playground equipment.
