Policies

A policy is defined as a Corporate direction that is formally adopted by Council resolution. Enacting policies provides a framework for decision making ensuring consistency throughout the municipality. The supporting legislation for such policy development is the Municipal Act. It specifically provides Council the authority to develop and evaluate the policies and programs of a municipality.

Intimate Partner Violence

Stone Mills Council would like to acknowledge that November is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Canada and marks Women Abuse Prevention month in Ontario. This commemorative month aims to promote education and prevention, support survivors, and advocate for policies to combat domestic violence.

The Council of the Corporation of Stone Mills, formally declares Intimate Partner Violence as an Epidemic.

If you or someone you know is experiencing Intimate Partner Violence, know that you are not alone.
