The Township of Stone Mills offers a variety of residential living environments in its many hamlets, rural and waterfront residential areas, home to long-time residents, young families, professional couples, artisans, and seasonal dwellers.

First known as Clark’s Mills, Camden East has a population of 306 people today. This welcoming rural community has rolling agricultural land, lakes and the Napanee river running through it.

This charming hamlet hosts the annual Centreville Fair at the fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are also a great gathering place for residents and visitors who frequent the grandstand and park.

Colebrook is a rural hamlet found just north of Yarker. Nestled on the banks of the Napanee River, this Stone Mills community is surrounded by active farms and is near the Cataraqui Trail, Camden Lake Provincial Wildlife Area and Varty Lake.

Croydon is a rural farming community which at one time featured several hotels, a general store, a church, a post office, a schoolhouse, and a gristmill. Today the main attraction is the Salmon River, which runs through the heart of the hamlet. The river is used for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking.

The rural community of Enterprise is surrounded by farmland. Within the hamlet there is an actively used ballpark, and an outdoor rink. Community members are very entrepreneurial with a number of unique stores in the area.

The village of Newburgh was settled in about 1822 and by 1851 the village was well established as a local manufacturing centre with mills, a foundry, and tanneries. Today, Newburgh is thriving with a population of approximately 695 people and has lots of amenities right in the village for residents.
