Waste and Recycling

The Township of Stone Mills requires residents to dispose their household waste in clear township plastic garbage bags, which can be purchased for $3.00 each throughout various outlets within the Township. 

Residents living within the Hamlet of Newburgh have curbside pickup. Garbage and recycling is picked up within the Village of Newburgh on alternating Mondays. For detailed information access the 2024 printable calendar.

If you are not within the hamlet of Newburgh, you can bring your household waste and recycling to one of the below Waste Disposal Sites. Please remember the waste must be in clear Township garbage bags. Waste Disposal Sites operate Wednesday 12PM-4PM and Saturday 8AM-4PM

Please note that as per By-law 2007-413 Being a Waste Management By-law, residents are required to recycle. Please refer to the Landfill & Recycling information page to find out what out what should not be included with waste. The Waste Disposal Site attendant has the authority to refuse waste should it have recyclable materials in it. 

·       All resident vehicles must stop at the landfill receiving area and attendants will inspect all waste entering the landfill sites.  If recyclables are found in the Township Identified waste bags, attendants will refuse the waste until the recyclables are removed.

Clear Township garbage bags can be purchased at the locations listed below. Please note that while the Township's fee for garbage bags is $3.00, businesses may charge more.
