The significant weather event remains in effect. The Public Works department continues to ensure roads are passable, but motorists should still be cautious of debris.
Stone Mills Fire Stations will be open Monday, March 31st from 6:00pm - 8:00pm to provide residents without hydro access to non-potable water and a place to charge electronics. The Fire Stations are located at:
• Newburgh Fire Station (12 Factory Street)
• Yarker Fire Station (9 Mill Street)
• Enterprise Fire Station (2861 County Road 14)
• Tamworth (630 County Road 4W)
The next update will be provided on Tuesday, April 1st at noon unless new information needs to be shared sooner.
Residents are encouraged to be cautious if using Township parks following this weekend's ice storm. There may be trees and branches fallen in parks preventing access and hanging broken limbs can cause overhead hazards. Township staff will be inspecting parks for potential safety hazards, prioritizing removal and, if required, temporarily closing unsafe sections.
Stay well clear of fallen power lines. If you see one, stay at least 10 metres away, even if it appears inactive. Report it to 911 and call Hydro One at 1-800-434-1235. To stay up to date on the power outages or to sign up for updates, visit the Hydro One website at https://www.hydroone.com/
